I think that we have all been prone to procrastination at some (or many) stages. Working in communications can leave you particularly prone to procrastination of the writing variety - a dangerous occupational hazard. A friend recently pointed me in the direction of Dr Wicked, and the application Write or Die...
The application allows you to type copy into a box with procrastination punished in varying degrees - stop typing for a little while and a pop up box will remind you to continue writing, if you persistently avoid writing then you be played unpleasant sounds until you start writing, and if you stop writing for too long you might find that all your copy has been deleted. The creator believes that one of the main causes of procrastination amongst writers is the lack of a tangible deadline. "A tangible consequence is more effective than an intangible reward."
Log on here and have a play - its kind of fun and creepy at the same time..!
