The uniform project

How often do we ladies spend an absolute fortune on a dress that we can only wear once? The answer is too often. To try to teach us about sustainable fashion, blogger Sheena Matheiken, has pledged to wear one dress for one year. Here’s how it works: There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. “Every day I will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade's boudoir” Says Matheiken. The Uniform project is a year long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, based in India. The foundation is dedicated to the education, uniforms and educational expenses of  children who live in the Indian slums. So far the project had raised $44,000 and put 122 kids in school!
