Everybody needs good Neighbours

Costing $40 every Monday night, on entrance you get a free half-pint, glass of champagne or wine.  They strategically ask you in an hour and a half before anything happens so naturally you need to pay the bar many visits. The girls and I decided it was getting too steep so instead we persevered for free top-ups. When the night got properly underway, we were introduced to Elle Robinson (Pippa Black), Connor (Patrick Harvey) and Karl (Alan Fletcher). Following was a Q and A session with the audience.  My favourite question asked was ‘Do any of the Neighbours cast consider acting lessons?’ Alan Fletcher is by far the highlight of the night.  He’d just returned from touring England again and I was impressed that jetlag does not stop this man’s charisma and charm (probably because he loves young girls literally jumping on him). He sung his signature song ‘who the f*** is Susan?’ and stole the show with his stage presence, comments and crowd interaction.  Elle is so tiny and beautiful and Connor surprised me with his Elvis impersonation.  Lots of Neighbours stars try their hand at singing and this night is no exception as Alan, Connor and Paul (Stefan Dennis) worked their vocal chords and entertained the crowd. The night offers some great prizes to be won through the corporate sponsorship deals they have formed. They are all travelling related prizes in Australia or New Zealand which gathered a lot of interest and got the crowd going. The trivia part of the night is mostly general knowledge with a few Neighbours questions thrown in and the winners receive $200. It’s a great night if you are a Neighbours fan.  Which is why hardly any Australians go and the English, Irish and Scottish take over.
