Jelly revival

Jelly bellies -they are back from our youth and here to stay! I honestly don’t know how I feel about them. I see them and I wanna laugh, sigh and cry all at the same time. It seems so strange seeing a grown man or woman wearing plastic sandals. I guess if FAT clothing stores are selling them, then they must be cool.

What are your thoughts on this revival?

The uniform project

The uniform project

How often do we ladies spend an absolute fortune on a dress that we can only wear once? The answer is too often. To try to teach us about sustainable fashion, blogger Sheena Matheiken, has pledged to wear one dress for one year. Here’s how it works: There are 7 identical dresses, one for each day of the week. “Every day I will reinvent the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments, the majority of which will be vintage, hand-made, or hand-me-down goodies. Think of it as wearing a daily uniform with enough creative license to make it look like I just crawled out of the Marquis de Sade's boudoir” Says Matheiken. The Uniform project is a year long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, based in India. The foundation is dedicated to the education, uniforms and educational expenses of  children who live in the Indian slums. So far the project had raised $44,000 and put 122 kids in school! To donate to the cause go to http://www.theuniformproject.com/home/donate.html

The “color-in dress” is the latest design created by fashion designer Berber Soepboer and graphic designer Michiel Schuurman. To keep it exclusive, only fifty dresses have been made in four different sizes. For 250 Euros a pop this creative little number can be yours, don’t worry, the colour pens are included! Finally a dress that can be uniquely coloured by moi!

Star Wars turns to millinery

Star Wars just got a little bit geekier! Who ever thought that was possible?? There are 20 hats to be collected each representing a character from the longest and most boring movies EVER! Apologies to the boys sitting around me! . . . Please don’t hurt me! Japanese company New Era Fits are the creators of this gangster/nerd head wear. I cant wait to see what dorky things they put out next!

Pac-Man bling!

Pac-Man has resurfaced after many years! These rings are made out of silver and onyx, but don’t worry I wouldn’t get too attached, coz they are already sold out! Just think about how nice it would have been to receive this for the holiday! Let's just hope Diva makes a copy so we can get it before Easter!

Movember for the ladettes

Yes guys its almost over, Movember is coming to an end! Girls get ready for December and itch free smooches! For those of you who don’t know Movember is an annual, month-long celebration in November of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

Demitass Jewerlry has created a line called ‘Demistache’ which are all moustache shaped necklaces.  It’s great to see the ladies getting involved; I mean we can ‘t help it if we cant grow facial hair! So I guess this necklace is the next best thing right?

Strutting stilettos

In where else but Paris would we find 100 crazed women competing for the Stiletto championship race! Sarenza.com are the founders and sponsors for this crazy event. The lucky winner receives 3,000 Euros worth of shoes! But I’m assuming that after a race like that all you would want to buy is slippers! The race is broken into three 180-meter relays and the ladies must wear at least three-inch heels. There are 32 teams in the running and a medical support team is always at the ready! The 2008 winners, team "Talk To My Foot (Parle A Mon Pied)" will be competing again this year, a trio comprised of a TV journalist, a psychologist and a lawyer. See, its not just for dumb bimbos smart women get a kick out of it too!
