There must be something in the water; Australia keeps turning out some serious modelling talent and rising star Victoria Grace is no exception. In five short months Victoria has achieved a lot - she has worked for some of Australia's and NZ's top fashion magazines, made her catwalk debut in Europe walking for the likes of MAAN, Xrisanthos and Vivienne Westward and most recently has been photographed (as pictured) by Greek Photographer George Katsanakis. Pollen talks to Victoria about the journey so far...

Or just a craving for Japanese? I suggest you swing by Ichi Ni on St Kilda's Esplanade. A short stagger from the Espy this new Japanese restaurant is a God send to those in the bayside suburbs. Cheap (ish depending on what you have), with friendly, not overly intrusive, quick service and plenty of dishes to choose from, I am sold on this lovely little establishment. Sit at the bar and watch the outrageously fresh fish sliced by sashimi masters or grab a seat in a booth (book first!) and enjoy such delights as teriyaki corn and other assorted Japanese ‘tapas'. Moshi Moshi, indeed!

Well, not specifically a cocktail but something to keep you warm (and wasted) on a cold winter's night.
When I was in London most of the off-licenses would sell little packets of cloves and herbs etc to pour into your warmed wine around Christmas time. This was quite the novelty for me (pour glass of wine, pop in the microwave for 30 seconds, empty sachet into wine, ta da!) but it wasn't until I went to Germany and had home-made Glühwein did I properly understand the magical, medicinal effect of this lovely drink.
I have heard tell of a recipe that includes absinthe but I think this elixir is strong enough without summoning green fairies. It's strong! You have been warned....

I was on the American Apparel website today - which is not just famous for its clothes but rather its scantily clad models, when I noticed something rather disturbing. The scrunchie. For those who don't remember (and those who care to forget) the scrunchie was a fashion fixture of the 80's. Its puffy, fluoro form adding an eye-catching feature to the ponytails of many unsuspecting fashion victims.
It begs the question...Why are some people so intent on bringing back bad 80's fashion? Surely it makes sense that if it was BAD then, its even worse now. Like pastel jeans, permed hair and blue eye shadow, the only title the scrunchie deserves is Pure Fashion Horror for the Hair. There are some things to be worn inside, others to be worn outside and some NOT to be worn AT ALL, EVER! Join the movement and say NO to scrunchies!
